Experienced HGV 18T Multi-Drop Driver (Class 2)

Moody Logistics is a family owned and operated transport, warehousing and logistics company, based in Cramlington who have been in business for over 75 years.


As a result of business growth we have a position for an experienced Class 2 multi-drop driver to join our busy, successful, award winning team.

About the role

Delivery drivers have a critical role within our company as you are the face of the company while delivering to our customers. Therefore, the successful applicant will need to be friendly, enthusiastic, physically fit, reliable, and able to work alone and as part of a team. Successful candidates will be required to work 5 days per week between Monday and Friday with a rota Saturday.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensure the vehicle is loaded safely and within the legislation

  • Checking paperwork and route planning

  • Delivering and collecting in the North East, therefore, a good geographical knowledge of the North East is desirable.

  • Use of mobile phone to report completion of deliveries

  • Checking your orders at the point of delivery with the customer

  • Communication with customers and the office

  • Comply with all Driver hours and Road Transport Directive legislation

  • Feedback to the office on any issues around loading, unloading or delays

  • Maintaining safety and security of loads at all times

  • Complete daily walk round checks on the vehicle you are driving

  • Always promote a professional company image

  • Ensure compliance with company policy / procedures

  • Full adherence to the highway code

About you

You will be naturally friendly, working with your team to deliver great results. You will have an enthusiastic approach. You will deliver high standards, working accurately and efficiently. You care about delivering goods to customers to ensure customers are provided with the highest standard of service.

Candidates must

  • Hold a current clean class 2 driving licence with no major endorsements on your licence

  • Hold a current Digi-Tacho card

  • Have a valid CPC certificate

  • Have experience in a similar role

  • Have an excellent approach to customer service

What we offer:

Rate of pay is £12.50 per hour. Hours of work are minimum 40 hours per week 8.30am till 5.30pm Monday to Friday, with overtime as required.

The Company also offers pension scheme, profit share and health scheme after your probationary period.  A uniform will be provided.
