At Moodys, we’ve been Delivering Trust and Reliability since 1947 . As a family-run business now in its third generation, we’ve always believed that steady investment in our people, processes and facilities is the key to maintaining the high standards our customers expect.

Our latest improvement? Expanding and optimising our cross-deck facility by removing internal walls to create a more open, free-flowing loading environment — all designed to get vehicles out on the road earlier each morning.

Why the Change?

Before

Our 12,000 sq ft drive-through covered cross-deck facility was originally developed to boost productivity and streamline operations . With the ability to load and offload up to six artics at once, all undercover and with direct access to our warehouse, it already plays a crucial role in our daily pallet network and contract logistics operations.

After

However, as volumes continue to grow, particularly through our Pall-Ex pallet network,

we recognised an opportunity to go even further.

By removing internal dividing walls within the cross-deck area, we’ve created:

• 3,000 sq ft in our covered cross-deck facility

• Clearer lines of sight across the floor

• Improved forklift maneuverability

• Fewer pinch points during peak loading times

• A more efficient flow of pallets from inbound to outbound vehicles

The result is a smoother, faster, and safer loading process during our busiest period of the day.

Investing in Infrastructure That Works for Our Customers

Operating from our 7-acre site in Cramlington, with 44,000 sq ft of warehousing and storage, we continually review how our facilities can better serve our customers.

This latest expansion isn’t a cosmetic change — it’s a practical, operational upgrade that strengthens our ability to:

• Maintain freight protection under cover from weather conditions
