National Apprenticeship Week ran from 9th to 15th February 2026, with the theme “Skills for Life” – a chance to celebrate how apprenticeships build real careers, open doors, and develop the skills employers genuinely need. National Apprenticeship Week is a great opportunity to recognise the people learning their trade and building long-term careers in transport and logistics.
At Moody Logistics and Storage, investing in people has always mattered. As a family-owned business delivering trust and reliability since 1947, we’re proud to support new talent and help
them grow into confident, professional drivers.
Our in-house apprenticeship scheme
In 2021, we launched our own internal apprenticeship scheme to create a clear, practical route into the industry. Our approach is simple: real experience first, then structured training. Why? Because great drivers aren’t just “born with it”. They’re developed through the right support, the right training, and plenty of real-world experience.
Apprentices start by learning the ropes with our 3.5 tonne lorry, completing smaller deliveries and building the everyday skills that make a difference—safe working habits, customer service, timekeeping, and attention to detail. When they’re ready, they move onto intensive HGV lessons, before sitting their HGV driving test. It’s a step-by-step programme designed to build confidence, competence, and the right mindset from day one.

Progress we’re proud of
We’ve trained 9 HGV drivers helping them achieve their license's with 4 of them being from 2021 after starting our own internal apprenticeship scheme and we currently have 1 apprentice in training, waiting to sit his Class 1 HGV test.
We’re proud of every person who’s taken this route with us and we’ll continue to invest in apprenticeships as part of our commitment to quality, safety, and dependable service.
